Bamboo has become an important alternative to conventional construction materials. It can provide communities with sustainable source of timber for generations, and its lightweight and strong properties make it an excellent material for building.

For the last 10 years, we've been building with bamboo at the Bamboo U Campus at the Kul Kul Farm. Nestled in the lush village of Sibang, the Bamboo U campus is home to over 25 beautiful bamboo structures. These range in architectural styles from bamboo playgrounds to massive bamboo domes. If you join us at the Kul Kul Farm, you'll be able to experience these incredible structures first-hand!

After exploring the campus, you'll have a delicious lunch in our beautiful bamboo restaurant, Dapur Barong. If you would like to learn and experience building with bamboo, you can join our additional workshops: Structural Systems Workshop, Bamboo Model-Making and Bamboo Carpentry and Joinery workshop led by our team of expert bamboo builders.

(1 Hour): Discover how bamboo is treated, processed, and prepared for construction.

Bamboo Structural Systems (Rp 750,000)
(1 Hour): Learn how bamboo can be utilized in building frameworks and innovative architectural designs.

Bamboo Model-Making Workshop (Rp 650,000)
(2 Hours): Design your very own bamboo structure with hand-whittled model-making sticks.
Bamboo Carpentry and Joinery Workshop (Rp 750,000)
(2 Hours): Get hands-on and learn the basics of Balinese bamboo carpentry. You'll have the opportunity to craft a beautiful bamboo tray to take home.

Who can join?

This 1-Day Bamboo Experience is for anyone interested in experiencing first-hand how bamboo is used as a building material.

Anyone with a desire to learn about bamboo is welcome. Whether you're a bamboo enthusiast, a curious traveler, or just want to be inspired, this is your opportunity to see what’s possible when nature and design meet. We have found that the experience is especially valuable for people who are passionate about design, construction, architecture, and/or sustainability.

All participants must feel comfortable engaging in hands-on physical activities. The workshops are open to anyone aged 18 and above. For participants under 18 years, a waiver signed by a parent or guardian is required.
