How do I access the online course?
The Fundamentals of Building with Bamboo online course is hosted on our very own Bamboo U Online Platform.
Once the course begins, you get instant access to the Online Platform. Over 600 people have taken this course and the Bamboo U Online Platform is your portal to bamboo knowledge from around the world. Giving you access to bamboo experts, enthusiasts and a wealth of knowledge all in one place!
How much time will I need to put into this?
You will need to dedicate 1 full day per week (or 7 hours per week) to follow the course, which includes watching the pre-recorded content and attending live sessions with your facilitators and bamboo experts.
Are there any prerequisites for this course?
There are no prerequisites needed for this course. In relation to getting the most out of this course we recommend having at least 10mbps of download speed. Our online courses are most compatible with Chrome and Safari browsers on a desktop. However, you will also be able to enjoy the course from your phone if needed.
What’s the benefit of taking this online vs an in-person course?
Our course is hosted on our very own Bamboo U Online Platform, which allows you to participate from anywhere in the world, as well as access the information any time.
Furthermore, the knowledge is perfectly packaged, recorded and distilled in a way that is easy to digest and retain, whereas the in-person course is all about hands-on experience and less information
Do I get the full course all at once?
The course is designed to be completed in 10 weeks. Each week we will release a new module for you to discover. Ideally, you complete one module per week. Once the module is released you'll have lifetime access, so if you fall behind, you can access the course at a later date. Each week there will also be at least one live session for you to join.
How long will I have access to the content? Will the course expire?
This course content will be available to you even after the course ends. The only part of the course that you will not have access to once it ends is your Group. Although you will still be able to look at the history of the group and watch all the recorded LIVE session, the group will be paused, so you will not be able to post and connect with others once the course is over! We encourage you to make full use of your group to connect before the course ends.
I’m not an architect or designer, will this work for me?
This course is for anyone who is passionate about sustainable building materials, bamboo in particular and of course for those excited by the idea of building their own bamboo structure.
Will I need to purchase any tools and materials?
Yes, we will send you a tools and materials list of simple items you will need for the bamboo model building sessions. These will be items anyone should be able to purchase at a large supermarket or online. This will be sent to you on week 1 of the course (well ahead of the time you will actually need them!).
